Today’s article is dedicated to all Facebook users in which I’m going to share with you step by step article on How to Disable or Stop Auto- Playing video ads in Facebook for Android, iOS and Desktop.
Few days back Facebook introduced a new feature that automatically plays video ads while scrolling through your news feeds on desktop and mobile device. Basically, the videos play with sound off, but you find this little irritating and may not want them to autoplay at all, especially when you’re on the cellular network. Streaming video is a sure-fire way to eat up your data plan for nothing. There is not a way to completely take rid of autoplay video ads, but you can prevent it from working when you’re not on a Wi-Fi network.
So below I’m going to share with step by step guide on how you a disable autoplay videos as in Facebook for Android, iOS and Desktop one by one:
For Facebook on the desktop
You can turn off auto-play videos in your settings, just follow steps below :
- On Facebook, head over to the drop-down menu which is at the upper right-hand corner and go to Settings > Videos. Or just make a click here to go straight there.
- Here you need to click the “On” box and change it to “Off.” which is next to the Auto-Play Videos setting
Safari users may have to try using another browser, as some people are reporting that this setting does not show up in Safarisichi for some reason.
For Facebook for Android
Unfortunately, there is no way to completely disable Facebook’s video ads on mobile. However, but you can do is disable them when you’re not on Wi-Fi, For doing that just follow steps below:
- Open Facebook, open the left sidebar, and make a tap on “App Settings.”
- Here you need to check the “Auto-Play Videos on Wi-FI Only” box.
For Facebook for iOS
Similar to Android, you can’t be able to disable the ads completely, but just like Android you can disable them when you’re not using your iOS device on Wi-Fi. Just follow step below to
- Go to the iOS Settings app from the home screen, and open up Facebook’s settings.
- Here you need to Tap the Settings option and under “Video,” switch the “Auto-Play on Wi-Fi Only” option on.
So this is how you can disable autoplay video ads in Facebook across different platform. Till now its not known that, will Facebook introduce a way to completely remove this feature on mobile devices and if did, do you disable these video ads or stick with it. Don’t forget to share everything you want to share with me by comments.
