Facebook and Google Plus are one of the most popular social networking websites, Google Plus allow you to share animated GIF images, but Facebook can’t. Facebook users are dying to get this support and, if you’re one out of them, then the day you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Now you can now post GIFs on Facebook thanks to a workaround from Giphy.
Giphy is a database and search engine that allows users to search for and share animated GIF files. What Giphy did is, created a code that makes GIFs actually loop on Facebook. Sharing animated GIF on Facebook is very simple like posting a link to a video. You can copy paste the URL of the page for the GIF which you’ve selected, or simply embed straight to Facebook wall using Share GIF options. Once you post it on your wall it will look like a video upload or Newsfeed, in that you need to click on play button one embed animation start playing. The only problem is that the URL must come from Giphy, but doesn’t think it really matters at least you now got a way to share GIFs on Facebook.
Why don’t you check simple and easy steps to share animated GIF image on Facebook wall
1. First of all visit Giphy
2. After that select the GIF which you want to share. You can use the search box or different categories present at the top of the page.
3. Suppose I want to share this “the lion king laughing GIF by disney” What you need to do is click on Facebook share and you will get pop on that click share. And it will share on your Facebook wall.
4. Once the GIF is shared on your wall, just need to click on play button like show in below image.
5. And you are done, now it will expand a little and your animation will start playing.
So this is how you can play GIF on Facebook wall. Even a Facebook spokesperson reached out to say that “Facebook does not support animated GIFs.” So for the record, Facebook doesn’t officially support GIFs, but Giphy links work like GIFs on Facebook, nonetheless.
